Columbia 300 High Speed

The Speed introduced the Shifter core. The Top Speed introduced HK22 base formulation to the bowling industry. With the new High Speed, a hybrid additive package is bringing more motion in the middle of the lane while having a strong continuation through the pins. The High Speed is built for medium to heavy volumes, but speed dominant bowlers can use it on medium volumes or less.

July 13, 2023 is bringing 2 releases with new covers and cores from the Columbia300 and Ebonite brands. The combination of both would be a great 1-2 punch on heavier volumes. There are also 3 new versions of previously released balls and each has the phenomenal HK22 base coverstock. Are you searching for a big hooking ball to add to your arsenal? The Formula 1 Solid cover is wrapped around the new higher RG, Diff and Intermediate Diff Atlas core and will give bowlers great backend potential on medium to heavy volumes of conditioners. This build provides a strong midlane and backend reaction. Also, high speed players with med to lower rev rates will want to look at the C300 Atlas as a ball that slows down in the right part of the lane.

Columbia 300 Madness

Are you ready for some Madness? Are you looking for a compliment to C300 Explosion, Cuda PowerCOR and Top Speed? Together the new core shape design (Craze), the ERT Pearl (Power Torq Pearl, Dynamic Swing) will provide the Madness with a “Skid/Flip” motion. Now add in the HK22 base formulation, this will take that quick response to another level. Medium volumes and conditioner to friction launch angles is where the Madness will shine for most styles. Welcome to 2023! I hope you all had and continue to have a great holiday season!
Jumping right into the new release stage is Brunswick, Columbia300, Ebonite and Radical. We hear many times, why isn’t there something new or why are you remaking that ball again? Truth is there’s only so much can happen in 2.5 seconds as the ball goes down the lane. Matching up is the key to good scoring. Bowling continues to get new bowlers joining the experienced bowlers on the lanes and they have missed some great releases that could match up to their game, needs and growth. That being said, here are some familiar techs as well as some changes to bring different ball motions and reaction shapes to the new year. Core numbers noted below are at 15lbs. All bowling balls (except Polys) have a 2 year warranty from the date of purchase.

Columbia 300 Explosion

Columbia300 brings back the Resurgence core. This time is wrapped in the Reflex Hybrid coverstock. The surface is textured at 500/2000 Siaair which helps ball get a strong overall hook in medium to heavy volumes. High rev players and 2 handers could see this as an option in their bags as the lanes transition. The colors are a nice mix of Black/Purple/Emerald. The C300 Explosion is a budget friendly choice for all bowlers. Versatility and the added hitting power of DynamiCore, the C300 Explosion could be your new benchmark ball.

Columbia Top Speed (WWRD 11/18/2022)

 

Columbia Top Speed

The Speed continues to be a fantastic choice for heavy volumes. The cover of the Top Speed combines the Pearl version of the Formula 1 with the new HK22 base material. This gives the ball a shiny finish that gets it down lane easily and creates an impressive backend motion when it encounters friction. Testers saw more margin of error (M.o.E.) which is what every bowler likes. The enhanced colors are Scarlet/Silver/Purple are wrapped around the Shifter core in 14-16 lbs. Medium to heavy volumes is where the Top Speed shines.

Columbia Cuda PowerCOR (WWRD 09/23/2022)

The original Cuda introduced a new design in core technology. Updating it to the new drillable Cuda PowerCOR (interchangeable thumb friendly) and surrounding it with the ERT Solid cover found on the C300 Power Torq Solid will be a great option for medium to heavy volumes. Adding a dense flip block away from the center creates more differential and imbalance. Built with D.O.T. and DynamiCore adds the ultimate in drilling options and durability. A strong, solid symmetrical is a must in every bowler’s bag. The color is very familiar at Burgundy/Black with pink engraving.

Columbia Messenger Solid & Pearl PowerCOR (WWRD 07/21/2022)

 

If you are looking for a 1-2 punch for league, this duo will be hard to beat in performance at their price points. Keep the surfaces clean and refreshed and you will be very happy with this duo. Columbia 300 changed the industry when they inserted ceramic and titanium into their cores, like the Cuda/C and Messenger Titanium. At the time, care was need when drilling onto this series of balls due to the fact they shouldn’t be drilled into. Fast forward to today where interchangeable thumbs and deeper holes are popular. Adjustments have been made where you can do that and strike away. In a dual release, there will be a Pearl and Solid Messenger PowerCor. Both will have its own version of the Reflex coverstock and box finish. Whether you need one or both as a starting arsenal or a replacement for a ball in your bag, it would be hard to find a better value at this price point.

Messenger PowerCOR Pearl

Lane surfaces are aging in some areas and bowlers are always looking for ways to combat early hook or when the lanes transition. Whether if it’s the lane surface topography, condition volume or a slower speed from the bowler, the Messenger PowerCOR Pearl will help get the ball further down the lane and have a nice motion to the pins. Recommended Cleaner: Brunswick Reaction Recharge

Messenger PowerCOR Solid

 Messenger PowerCOR will give you a solid cover that will present a smooth continuous ball motion. On occasion a ball with a solid cover stock has a bigger core (engine) will roll too early and reduced hitting power at the pins. The RG and Differential numbers are built for performance and the differential is in the sweet spot for most bowlers to build an arsenal around. Recommended Cleaner: Power House Clean N’ Dull

Columbia Speed

The all new Columbia300 Speed was impressive during the PBA Tournament of Champions telecast. The new hybrid cover (Formula 1) and new core (Shifter) will provide a stronger option to the popular C300 Power Torq. Overall hook on heavy volumes is where the Speed will read the road. The 12 & 13 pound balls do have an alternate core, but will do the job of its heavier counterparts. Columbia Eruption Pearl

The return of the C300 Eruption Pearl has a lot of bowlers rejoicing. The Resurgence Core has been the engine of many great rolling balls in the past. It’s wrapped in the Reflex Pearl cover last seen on the Spoiler Alert. With lanes aging and friction becoming more and more, a controllable pearl would be a great addition to anyone’s bag. Pair it with the Brunswick Knock Out Black & Blue for a fantastic 1-2 combo at a budget friendly price. There is an alternate core in the lighter weights (12& 13lbs.), but keeps the balls motion comparable to the heavier weights. Also, DynamiCore has been added this time around for the Eruption Pearl.
